Did you know that India.Arie holds the record for the most Grammy Award nominations in a single night without a win?

Arie was nominated for seven trophies at the 2002 Grammy ceremony but she won none, thus establishing a new record at the show and besting Mariah Carey’s six nomination, no win bar set at the 1996 ceremony. Among the awards for which Arie received nods were Album of the Year (Acoustic Soul), Best New Artist, Song of the Year (“Video”) and Record of the Year (“Video”).

Don’t feel sorry for Arie, though, because she has since won four Grammys at subsequent events. Watch her video for “Little Things”, a song that won the Best Urban/Alternative Performance title in 2003, below:
