iTunes 1.0 was issued on January 9th 2001 for Mac OS 9.0.4 and launched Apple into the Digital Age as a serious competitor. Since that time, there have been nine major developments to the software, thus making it the bane of Amazon’s existence as one of the leading providers of legal music downloads.
2012 marked the largest year for digital sales across all online retailers to date. Just imagine how many of 1.34 billion digital singles were sold by iTunes alone!
