Justin Timberlake has falsely been credited as a leading innovator of his generation but perhaps it would be more accurate to thank him for making less known styles of music more popular. For instance, his new song, “Suit & Tie”, is simply a reworked version of Robin Thicke’s greatest hits.
Produced by Timbaland, “Suit & Tie” features Jay-Z and will appear on Timberlake’s comeback album, due later this year. The track kicks off with Timbaland’s typical vocal distortions and dragging bass, before transforming into a colourful R&B number. Listen to the song for yourself below:

“Suit & Tie” proves that Timberlake is the almighty saviour of all things music; the second coming of the legendary Michael Jackson and seed of the grand high Prince. Okay, let’s be serious. Were we really supposed to be bowled over by this song, which could have been performed any mid-level R&B artist, such as the aforementioned Thicke?
As a comeback single, “Suit & Tie” is far from impressive and hardly worth mentioning given the fact that Timberlake has taken years to plan his return. Indeed, although it is good song, it is far from groundbreaking and quite anti-climatic. Don’t worry, though, because sponsored mainstream media outlets will be chanting, “icon…legend…prodigy,” by the end of the day and people who don’t know any better will soak it all in.
Have a problem with this review? Too bad because…
