Justin Timberlake’s “Suit and Tie” single cover

Justin Timberlake always wanted to be regarded as an R&B artist and thanks to his new song, “Suit & Tie (Ft. Jay-Z)”, he can now feel satisfied. However, the success of the single on the US charts this week wasn’t restricted to the Billboard R&B Songs tally. Instead, it earned him victory across the board.

“Suit & Tie” vaulted from #9 to #1 on the R&B Songs chart and #2 on the main Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart this week. Yet, the leap was minor when compared to the 80 spot jump it performed on the Billboard Hot 100 from #84 to #4, thus earning him his 20th top 10 hit on the lineup.

So, how many downloads did “Suit & Tie” sell via digital retailers? 314K copies of the track were sold, besting the 250K downloads of Timberlake’s previous bestseller, “Sexy Back”, of 2006. I wonder if R. Kelly will change his mind about working with his nemesis, especially now that he has gotten so close to Justin Bieber?
