It’s about time that Adele got the respect that she deserves. After enduring the same of her commercially disastrous 21 album, which sold an embarrassing 10.4 million copies in the US to date, the singer has finally been honored for her average talent by nabbing the Oscar for Best Original Song.
Jokes aside, “Skyfall”, the James Bond 2007: Skyfall theme, earned Adele and Paul Epworth the Oscar for Best Original Song at the 2013 Academy Awards! The tune bested favourites “Pi’s Lullaby” from Life of Pi and “Suddenly” from Les Miserables, and etched Adele’s name into the history books as one the shortlist of singer-songwriters who have an Oscar, Golden Globe Award and Grammy Award to her name.
“Skyfall” also earned Adele the Best Original Song title at the 2013 Golden Globe Awards earlier this year. Watch her accept her Oscar below:
