Alexandra Burke isn’t just getting in touch with her inner artist for her new album, she introducing the world to her softer side. Earlier today, the singer appeared on From the Heart where she shared the sad news regarding the many health issues affecting her mother.

Suffering from a failing kidney, Burke’s mother, Soul II Soul singer Melissa Bell, is in dire need of a transplant. Burke didn’t hesitate to chat about how the situation has affected her live and her family before delivering a passionate performance of the Gospel classic “Can’t Give Up Now”.
