Emeli Sande performs acoustically on ‘Good Morning America’.

As one Adele takes a break from the music industry, another has stepped up to take her place. Emeli Sande, who shares a first name with the world’s dominant recording artist, has returned to the US to continue her promotional campaign, just as music has begun to flood the charts.

Sande’s Our Version of Events debut album, which which initially sold a weak 12K copies when it was issued in the US last year, has reentered the iTunes Top 200 Albums chart and currently rests at #7. Furthermore, her lead US single from the set, “Next to Me”, has soared to #40 on Top 40/Mainstream Radio and #43 on the iTunes Top 200 Singles tally.
