Melanie Fiona is finally back on the promotional trail but it’s not to plug her own material. With her The MF Life album collecting dust at the bottom of a dollar store bargain bin, the unfortunate songbird has teamed with Michael Bolton to spread the word about his Ain’t No Mountain High Enough: Tribute Hitsville set.
With more vigour than she exhibited while promoting The MF Life, Fiona joined Bolton for a string of live performances of “Ain’t Nothing like the Real Thing” on Katie, The Today Show and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Meanwhile, back in a distant dreamworld, her team is getting paid for doing the worst possible job handling her career.
On the bright side, footage of Fiona’s appearance at UNCF’s 33rd annual An Evening of Stars event has finally hit the web. She didn’t sing her own songs, though. Instead, she covered R. Kelly’s “I Believe I Can Fly”. Watch all the performances below:
