Shirley Bassey dazzles in gold!

Did you know that this year’s ceremony marked the first time that Shirley Bassey appeared at the Academy Awards?

Despite performing the classic theme songs for the James Bond films Goldfinger (1964), Diamonds are Forever (1971) and Moonraker (1979), Bassey had never performed at the Academy Awards. However, that changed at the 2013 show when the 76-year old legend hit the stage to perform “Goldfinger”.

The James Bond franchise reached its 50th year in 2013. That’s right, the series more than twice the age of the latest theme song-singer, Adele. Watch Bassey perform at the Academy Awards for the first time below:
