Young music fans often cite Beyonce or Christina Aguilera as the best singer on the radio today but there is another diva who towers above all others, with or without her six-inch heels. Long lost Disney princess Mariah Carey is ready to remind listeners of her dominance via a new song called “Almost Home” and we have the first preview!
Carey co-wrote “Almost Home” alongside Simone Porter, Justin Gray and Lindsey Ray, with added productions by Stargate, for the upcoming film Oz the Great & Powerful, which is due for release on March 8th. With her blockbuster vocals taking centre stage on the track, the head diva takes a welcome detour from her breathy coos and Hip-Hop-flavoured hooks as she ventures back to the welcoming arms of Pop radio.
“Almost Home” will debut in its entirety on February 19th and an accompanying video directed by David LaChapelle, who was also at the helm of Carey’s “Loverboy” clip, will hit the airwaves shortly after. Listen to Carey flex her lung power on the “Almost Home” snippet below:
