With “Suit & Tie” being challenged by Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man” in a race for the top of the Billboard Hot 100, Justin Timberlake has chosen the perfect time to release its accompanying video. Yet, does the new visual match the hype?
Featuring Jay-Z, “Suit & Tie” is the lead single from Timberlake’s upcoming The 20/20 Experience album, which will hit stores on March 19th. The duo rocked the 2013 Grammy Awards show with the first televised rendition of the song and sepia camera filter for a special retro twist.
Let’s see if Timberlake manages a similar effect in his new “Suit & Tie” video. Watch the clip below:
A title like “Suit & Tie” doesn’t leave many options for visuals and Timberlake certainly did a great job with this video. The editing is clean, the dance breaks add to the retro style and even the 1950s Frank Sinatra fashions are on point. Whether “Suit & Tie” is a strong enough lead single is still debatable but at least the video is fun to watch. You know, once you overlook the fact that Timberlake is ripping off the style of other artists.
