I bet you forgot that Alicia Keys’ Oprah’s Master Class special aired last weekend. Thankfully for you, I’m awfully nosy and I watched the entire episode just for you! Reflecting on her musical journey, the songstress told the story of her rise to fame and various struggles that she endured.
Keys started started singing at the age of four years while playing a role in The Wizard of Oz and later picked up the classical piano when she was six, thanks to the encouragement of her grandmother. Since that time, she has become one of the most successful R&b artists of our time with over thirty five million records sold and fourteen Grammy Awards to her name.
Of course, nothing came easy for Keys. She was almost forced to become a basic Pop star while signed to Columbia Records and even lost interest in making music before finding new inspiration in Egypt. Quite a tale, huh? Watch Oprah’s Master Class below:
Thanks Mr. World Premiere!
