We must pay homage to the legends! Chaka Khan is celebrating her 40th year in the music business and Billboard magazine joined the fun by featuring the woman often referred to as The Voice on the cover of the Stars Tribute issue, dated March 23rd. Khan’s spot on the Billboard cover also coincides with her with the music icon’s 60th birthday.
Khan recorded her first album with Rufus, Rufus, on July 1st 1973 and she will release her latest offering, The iKhan Project: Alive! TheCommemorative Edition, on July 2nd 2013. Chaka will craft the latter set the same way she did the first and I love her for it!
“I want to experience the magic I felt 40 years ago when I recorded my first record,” stated Chaka. “The thrill of recording with all the musicians in one room, the interaction with the producer and the spontaneous moments of the experience.”
