During the last few months, Beyonce’s team has been hard at work manipulating the media and flooding the airwaves with transparent propaganda, easily spotted by people boasting IQs higher than a carrot. Now, the woman heralded as the “Mistress of the Universe” by Oprah Winfrey has proven via a new song called “Bow Down/I Been On” that her status in the industry rests solely on hot air.
Produced by Hit-Boy (“Bow Down”), Polow Da Don, Timbaland and Planet V (“I Been On”), the joint track should sound familiar to those of you who watched Beyonce’s promotional videos for The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour as it contains the same lofty operatic notes. However, the those high riffs are the only impressive facets of the otherwise horrible song.
Think that I’m just “hating”? Listen to Beyonce’s “Bow Down/I Been On” below:
If “Bow Down/I Been On” was released by Ciara or Keri Hilson, Beyonce’s fans would have quipped that the song was garbage and dismissed it immediately. Yet, we all know that those young gay men who live vicariously through Beyonce have been brainwashed to accept anything with a banging beat and a few boldfaced lines spewed by her as an instant classic.
Frankly, “Bow Down/I Been On” is filth and a very shallow product put forward by an artist who should be trying to cement her position as a leader in this industry. The lyrics are childish and the beat sounds as though it was rejected by Kanye West during the sessions for Watch the Throne.
Is this really the direction in which Beyonce is heading with her new album? Is this person who some of you happily call “queen” and support wholeheartedly? If the answers to those questions are yes then I refuse to bow down. Rather, I’m happy to lead the rebellion.
