Get ready for a battle of B-list proportions. Kelly Rowland has announced the June release date of her new album, Talk a Good Game, and it will clash with the arrival of Ashanti’s BraveHeart LP, thus making the summer the prime time for moderately interesting chart action.
Rowland will issue Talk a Good Game on June 3rd in the UK and June 4th in the US. The record is preceded by the singles “ICE (Ft. Lil Wayne)” and “Kisses Down Low”, the latter of which is currently perched at its #12 peak on Urban radio with almost 15 million audience impressions. The song has peaked at #80 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Ashanti, on the other hand, has yet to score a hit from her BraveHeart album. On March 25th, she released her third official single from the record, “Never Should Have”, with hopes of renewing public interest. Is her Princess of Hip-Hop & R&B throne in jeopardy? Will we even care about this clash while more relevant acts, such as Beyonce and Mariah Carey, face-off at the top of the charts?
Watch the video for Rowland’s “Kisses Down Low” below and determine if you care:
Note: Ciara’s One Woman Army will also be released on June 4th but similar to the rest of the world, I didn’t care enough to remember forgot.
