When Ashanti returned to the music scene in late 2011 free of label drama and a clear vision for her career, she seemed primed to return to the top of the R&B charts. However, after enduring numerous delays of her BraveHeart album, many of the Fuse News host’s fans of permanently lost hope and those who remain loyal to her wonder if it will ever be released.
The latest schedule change statues that BraveHeart will arrive in stores on June 4th. That marks almost 19 months since the issue of the record’s lead single, “Woman You Love (Ft. Busta Rhymes)”, to iTunes on December 15th 2011. At this point, there is no word regarding if Ashanti has chosen to change the title, cover or even select a new single to rekindle public interest in the LP.
So, will Ashanti ever release BraveHeart or will she postpone its arrival again before eventually scrapping the project completely? Clearly, the balancing acting of running Written Entertainment (her label), collaborating with eOne Music for distribution, promoting BraveHeart and hosting Fuse News has drawn her too thin. Hence, the chances of the album being released are incredibly slim.
Perhaps Ashanti should quietly cancel BraveHeart, record new material and return when she has properly planned how to market an album. There is little room for error when handling a comeback attempt and she has already failed miserably on every front so there is no point of beating a dead, buried, decomposed and fossilised horse.
