By now, you’ve heard the news that Ciara has changed the title of her new album from One Woman Army to Ciara and delayed the release of the record from June 4th to July 9th. Yet, what really prompted those changes? You don’t rely on blog-fuelled speculation to get the answer because Ciara has explained her reasoning in detail.
“I started working on this record more than a year ago and since then, I have found my creative clarity on the direction I wanted to go in,” stated Ciara. “It was almost a whole surge of fresh energy and I pushed myself to be even more creative.” Of course, that’s why Ciara includes a song called “Super Turnt Up”.
“I’m more open to change,” Ciara continued. “I’m learning so much of about myself and I’ve become really comfortable and free. This album goes beyond my music. This time it’s about taking a new journey with me. I’m running towards my fears and the things that would usually make me uncomfortable—I’m in tune with what’s happening to me, and I’m not afraid of expressing myself.”
Ciara will premiere her “Body Party” on April 22 via BET’s 106 & Park and VEVO. Until then, watch the clip for her global smash hit single, “Sorry”, below:
