Tis is a better sweet week for real music fans as it marks both the birth (April 2nd 1939) and death (April 1st 1984) of the R&B/Soul singer Marvin Gaye. So, footage of Fantasia and Luke James tribute to Gaye and his musical soulmate, Tammi Terrell, at the 2013 Trumpet Awards couldn’t have surfaced at a better time.

Fantasia and James performed rousing renditions of “You’re All I Need To Get By” “Heard It Through The Grapevine” and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” in honor of Gaye and Terrell. However, James was the true star of the show as he whipped out a flurry of trills that left even Fantasia speechless.
