For years, Beyonce’s insane fans have boasted across the web that she is “the Queen” yet they never defined the exact field from which that title stems (singing, dancing or general entertainment). Now, thanks to her latest endorsement deal with H&M and the new song “Standing in the Sun”, I’ve finally figured out her role. Beyonce is the Queen of Jingles.
As she continues to sell her artistry to the highest bidder, Beyonce uses the Sia-penned “Standing in the Sun” from her upcoming album as the backtrack for H&M’s summer campaign. The song features contemporary African style production and a full-voiced performance by Beyonce, who updates her “Baby Boy” video for the new commercial.
Beyonce will release her new album later this year and it will also feature the song “Grown Woman”. She performed that track, which was used as a Pepsi jingle, for the first time during her The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour yesterday and it is clear from the direction of the material that her upcoming LP will entail a heavy World music influence. Thank you, Solange.
