May 14th is just a few weeks away so Eve is increased her efforts to build buzz for her long awaited Lip Lock album. Without a hit single to guarantee the record’s success – both “She Bad Bad” and “Make it Out This Town” failed to chart – the rapper has released another new song called “EVE”.
Jamaican Dancehall artist Miss Kitty chants the background of “EVE” as Eve reminds us of her hard hitting skills behind the mic. According Rap-Up, video for the song has already been filmed in London and will be released later this spring. Yet, will it be a hit?
The looped haunting vocal that rings throughout “EVE” is quite infectious but this track is far from radio-friendly. Indeed, Eve is a great rapper but the lack of commercial appeal in Lip Lock and its non-existent promotional campaign make the chances of its success very slim. “EVE” is lyrically a solid effort but it certainly isn’t an airplay gainer like “Tambourine”.
