Last year, Nicole Scherzinger was listed among our 16 best singers of the last 16 years and many of you were upset, to say the very least. However, although her music is utter garbage, there is no denying her talent and she proved that she has the ability to far beyond the Pop charts. Only if she answers her true calling, of course.
Scherzinger honored the brilliant Andrew Lloyd Webber for his 40+ year career and used his original compositions “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” to celebrate the legend of song. Those of you born before 1995 should recognise the tune from the film adaptation of Evita, which starred Madonna in one of her few impressive movie roles.
Standing tall yet strikingly fragile as she performed the song, Scherzinger gracefully soared through “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” while maintaining incredible control of her pitch, tone and fast vibrato. Wouldn’t she sound perfect in a Broadway play? At least it’s a better option than listening to her dilute her sound to fit generic Pop tracks.

Here’s a random yet fun fact: Did you know that Donna Summer also performed “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” during one of her many showings? Watch her sing her contemporary version of the hit below:
