Solange’s pants are louder than her voice.

Aaliyah didn’t have the most powerful voice in music but her rich tone made her songs very difficult to cover. Unfortunately, Solange learned that the hard way at Coachella this weekend when she attempted to sing the late songbird’s “Hot like Fire” during her surprise set.

Solange joined The xx’s for a rendition of her own “Locked in Closets” as well as “Hot like Fire”. Despite her enthusiasm, however, she was lost in the music as her voice was often muffled, sharp or flat at key moments. On the bright side, she was well received by the crowd and her pants were pretty.
