It’s not secret that Eve’s attempts at scoring a chart comeback have thus far been unsuccessful and some of her fans fear that her long delayed Lip Lock album, which hit stores today, will be a commercial failure. So, when the rapper appeared on The Breakfast Club this morning, she was challenged to share her thoughts on such speculation.
As an independent artist who is simply happy to have her music available to the world, Eve revealed that she isn’t worried about Lip Lock sales. Although she made it clear that it would be great for the album to be well received across the board during its first week, she is more concerned about giving it staying power on the charts with an evenly paced promotional push.
Lip Lock is Eve’s first studio album in over ten years. The record features appearances by Miss Kitty, Missy Elliott, Gabe Saporta, Chrisette Michelle, Snoop Dogg and Dawn Richard. Watch Eve talk about the new music, her impact and more on The Breakfast Club below:
