Urban music fans finally have a reason to watch this show. Adding much needed fuel to a barely lit fire, excitement for the 2013 Billboard Music Awards reached a new high today when it was announced that Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown and several other superstars will perform at the May 19th ceremony.
Airing live at 8pm ET via ABC, the Billboard Music Awards will also include appearances Ed Sheeran, Akon, Ne-Yo, David Guetta and Icona Pop. These most recently name acts join the previously announced Christina Aguilera, Pitbull, Ryan Lewis, Selena Gomez, The Band Perry, Kacey Musgraves, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Miguel.
Lopez is expected to perform her new single, “Live it Up”, alongside Pitbull whereas Brown will sing a cut from his upcoming X album, which is due to hit stores on July 16th. Meanwhile, Minaj and Wayne will share the stage, probably to bop along to the former’s “High School”. Watch the video for that song below:
