Remember when we talked about the impact of Janet Jackson’s The Velvet Rope earlier this week? Well, if you had any doubt that the record has left a permanent mark on the music industry then ask Luke James, who performed a cover of “I Get Lonely” during his A64 sessions on SB. TV.
The sultry “I Get Lonely” was a global success for Jackson and it peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in a time when bigger-voiced divas, such as Celine Dion and Mariah Carey, dominated the charts. Unfortunately, James tried to put his own spin on the song and what resulted as an awkward bout of oversinging.
