Ciara’s “Body Party (Remix)” single cover

If you hate cut and paste remixes then Ciara’s “Body Party” revamp is not for you. By adding a few extra yelps by her boyfriend and co-writer, Future, and a verse by rapper B.o.B, the singer has once again taken the low budget route regarding her music. That’s our Ciara; always taking one step forward and two steps back.

Perhaps the most interesting facet of “Body Party” is the faster take on the Ghost Town DJ “My Boo” sample, which was cleverly included by producer Mike WiLL Made It. Yet, as R&B music fans may know, Mariah Carey used the exact same beat arrangement on her remix of “H.A.T.E.U.” from her Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel album. Who knew that Ciara and Mike WiLL Made It were such big fans of the diva?

Ciara’s self-titled album will be released on July 9th. Until then, listen to the remix of “Body Party” and compare it to Carey’s “H.A.T.E.U.” below:
