Perhaps the most highly anticipated track from Ciara’s new self-titled album has been “I’m Out”, which features Nicki Minaj. However, you don’t have to wait any longer to hear the song because it has been released in effort to build much needed buzz for Ciara (due to arrive on July 9th). So, does the record match the hype?
Unfortunately, “I’m Out” isn’t the perfect anthem that Ciara promised her fans but she is not at fault. In fact, the track is catchy and upbeat with a perfect for beat for both radio and the clubs. Yet, Minaj’s messy collection punchline raps – she is the female Weezy, after all – add absolutely nothing to the song.
With “Body Party” losing momentum on the charts, however, “I’m Out” is an ideal contender for a followup single. The song has all the makings of a summer hit and its accompanying video should include a very impressive routine of butt-bouncing and popping for cousin KiKi to practice between shifts at the corner store.
