K. Michelle has finished playing games with her career and is ready to make a serious effort on the charts with her new song, “V.S.O.P.”. Produced by Pop & Oak, the track is the official lead single from the unapologetic singer’s debut album, Rebellious Soul, which will hit stores in the summer.
The sexually-charged “V.S.O.P.” follows Michelle’s previous buzz offering, “I Just Wanna”, and will impact radio on June 2nd. The song is also available on iTunes now. Before you rush to purchase your copy, listen to it below:
Why does Michelle always sound so angry when she sings? “V.S.O.P.” is about a special night filled with tender moments and candles but her gruff vocals paint a picture of a hood sex tape featuring Treach from Naughty by Nature, bad weave and clouds of weed smoke. Add that to the obvious pitch correction her vocals and “V.S.O.P.” misses the mark.
Take a page from Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey’s books, Michelle. Sex and songs about the topic aren’t supposed to be this painful. Dial back to belting and take your time.
