Sevyn Streeter previously took the blogosphere by storm when she released her first solo single, “I Like It”, and now she’s back with another new song called “It Won’t Stop”. Produced by Diplo and the Picard Brothers, the track will appear on Streeter’s debut album, due later this year.
“It Won’t Stop” features a very reserved vocal performance by Street, who channels the vibe of her favourite artist, Aaliyah, on the drifting R&B number. This isn’t the first time that the she has called on the spirit of Aaliyah as she recently covered Aaliyah’s version of “Come Over” during her sessions for The Warner Sound.
Streeter will release her debut album via Chris Brown’s CBE/Atlantic Records. In the meantime, “It Won’t Stop” is available on iTunes now. Listen to the song below:
Unfortunately, “It Won’t Stop” isn’t a strong enough record as a follow up to “I Like It”. The latter track is radio friendly record and had the potential to crossover on mainstream radio. “It Won’t Stop”, on the other hand is a good song but suited to as a perfect album filler and not a single.
