The-Dream and Beyonce

Every great diva has a moment when she toys with being a hook singer. However, unlike Christina Aguilera, who needs those appearances just to get her name on the charts, Beyonce does it for fun on The-Dream’s new song, “Turnt”, which also features rapper 2 Chainz.

Clearly targeting a Hip-Hop crowd, “Turnt” takes us back to Beyonce’s early Destiny’s Child days when she had crimped braids and bopped to the beat in Amil music videos. I wonder how much she got paid for this latest ode to the hood or did she simply charge The-Dream 20% of the publishing rights on the next song he writers for her? We’ll probably never know the answer.
