When Tamar Braxton released her video for “Love & War”, I compared it to Mariah Carey’s “H.A.T.E.U.” and many of you claimed that I was simply imaging the similarities. Yet, the parallels between the singer’s new clip for “The One” and another of her idol’s work are difficult to deny.
Filmed on a sunny boardwalk, the video for “The One” captures the essence of young love during the peak of summertime. That’s all fine and dandy yet the scenes are strangely reminiscent of Carey’s own “Fantasy”, minus the denim shorts and dance troop, of course.
“The One” is latest offering from Braxton’s Love & War album, which will be released in September. Hopefully, she will call on Carey to sing a duet with her on the record or at least write a song. You know, since she’s such a huge fan of the diva.
