Bask in Prince’s greatness, mortals!

The 2013 Billboard Music Awards show was generally uneventful but a legend brought the crowd to life at the very last moment. Prince emerged from the shadows to accept this year’s Icon Award from Janelle Monae and Erykah Badu, and reminded the world of his legendary status.

Flaunting his expanding afro, Prince performed “Let’s Go Crazy” and his new song, “Fix Ur Life Up”, as young music fans experienced his greatness for the first. “Where have you been all my live, oh great saviour ” yelled Bobby from the crowd before fainting into his best friend’s arms.

Okay, I made the last part up but it sums up how many people, who never heard Prince’s music, felt on Twitter. Watch him receive a standing ovation at the Billboard Music Awards below:
