Mariah Carey is officially back on the charts! The diva’s new song, “#Beautiful”, which features Miguel, has roared onto the US charts and secured her latest impressive achievement on the Billboard Hot 100. Most importantly, it distanced her in the history books from that pesky Nicki Minaj.
“#Beautiful” debuted on the Hot 100 this week at #24 as the chart’s highest new entry. With over 31 million audience impressions at radio, 114K digital downloads and 461K first-week streams – a relatively low figure resulting from the song’s late addition to the popular Spotify service – “#Beautiful” is ranked at Carey’s 45th Hot 100 hit.
To date, Minaj has scored 44 Hot 100 entries, of which only 17 billed her as a lead act. Carey, on the other hand, now has 43 hits as a lead act on the chart. Additionally, #Beautiful” has earned the latter top 10 slots on several other Billboard charts – it climbed from #32 to #7 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, #16 to #2 on R&B Songs, and it debuted at #1 on R&B Digital Songs and #10 on the main Digital Songs tally.
Carey will perform “#Beautiful” for the first time on the American Idol finale on May 16th and again on the Good Morning America Sumer Concert Series on May 24th. See the other leading releases in the top 10 of both Billboard 200 and the Hot 100 below:
