“In the year 2525 there are struggling singers with the will to survive” – Ashanti’s numerous album delays have inspired me to write a song and I got carried away. However, we really won’t have to wait that long for her to release her BraveHeart record because she confirmed its due date for mid-summer.
During an interview on Hot 97, Ashanti revealed that BraveHeart will arrive in stores on July 30th. After being blasted by host Ebro for not sharing details regarding her relationship with Nelly, Ashanti chatted about several of the guest acts and producers who contributed to the record. Among those persons she named were Cool & Dre, Meek Mill, French Montana, Rico Love and Mansur.
Also up for discussion was Ashanti’s latest single, “Never Should Have”, which she specifically wrote to target the viewers of Army Wives. The song is set to appear on the June 9th finale of the show, thus scoring some much needed airplay on Lifetime’s highest-rated series.
Speaking of “Never Should Have”, Ashanti recently performed the song for the first time on television during her appearance on Marie. Watch her surprisingly effortless rendition of the tune below and mark you calendars for BraveHeart’s July 30th 2525 release:
