Beyonce’s fans have been praying that the feet of her H&M posters with hopes that she would release the full version of her new commercial jingle, “Standing on the Sun”, and their prayers were finally answered last night. For the first time ever, the singer performed the song in its entirety during The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour.
However, Beyonce’s “Standing on the Sun” rendition in Antwerp, Belgium wasn’t nearly as exciting as many of her supporters had hoped. Despite sounding vocally astounding, she was unusually stiff as she sashayed across the stage with her troop of female dancers. Indeed, the majority of the movement actually came from her dress, which fluttered in the breeze from her wind machine.
“Standing on the Sun” is the soundtrack for Beyonce’s H&M ad campaign and will also appear on her new album, reportedly due for release in November. Whether H&M will provide free underwear with each purchase of the record has yet to be confirmed.
