If you say Beyonce’s name too many times, she will magically appear and force you to spin golden hairs to add to her wig. At least, that’s the impression I got earlier today after posting a series of articles on The Lava Lizard and the diva took the stage at the Chime For Change: The Sound of Change Live concert in the UK.
Thousands of people showed their support for the global Chime for Change campaign to empower girls and women at the Gucci-founded event hosted in Twickenham Stadium. The event was headlined by numerous female superstars, such as Jennifer Lopez, Jessie J and Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine.
For her set, Beyonce switch tempos between covers of Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come”, Etta James’ “At Last” and her own “Grown Woman”. Thankfully, unlike her recent rendition of “Standing on the Sun” in Antwerp, Beyonce brought the fire that made her famous.
