Many of you may remember this weeks Burning Up spotlight act, Fifth Harmony, from their stint on The X Factor (US) and their inability to sonically gel as a group. Well, I’m happy to report that the five young ladies have found their sound and are prepared to take the airwaves by storm with their new single, “Miss Movin’ On”.
Comprising members, Camila Cabello, Normani Hamilton, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane Hansen and Lauren Jauregui, Fifth Harmony was pieced together after auditioned individually for The X Factor. They initially struggled to harmonise as a collective but with time came experience and good vocal coach, and they have since developed into an even stronger group (vocally) than even Little Mix.
Fifth Harmony have been signed to Epic Records and “Miss Movin’ On”, which was produced by the Suspex, serves as their official debut offering. Listen to the song below:
The music scene desperately needs a new generation of successful girl groups and together with Little Mix, the ladies of Fifth Harmony have the potential to answer that call. “Miss Movin’ On” is catchy, current and perfectly relatable to consumers of the tween to teen demographics. Basically, the song is Kelly Clarkson by five.
Most importantly, Fifth Harmony has talent and they aren’t just another production-driven group like The Wanted. With the right guidance – don’t mess this up, LA Reid – they have what it takes to last in this industry and it will be exciting to watch them grow.
As a special bonus, watch Fifth Harmony cover Rihanna’s “Stay” below:
