J. Cole isn’t the best live performer but what really matters are the messages in his music. During the 2013 BET Awards earlier this evening, Nas’ “chosen one” nabbed the spotlight as he shared his testimony with the audience via a moving rendition of “Crooked Smile”.

Still, listening to Cole rap his lyrics for too long could boring and he understands that. So, for his BET Awards segment, he brought out Miguel to help him sing their hit song “Power Trip”. Watch them during the second half of the long show below:
