With her “Live it Up” single struggling to gain momentum on the charts, Jennifer Lopez has decided to play it safe with the release date of her new album. In fact, the entertainer has tentatively plotted the arrival of the set for November, thus giving her ample time to build buzz for her generic Pop music.
Lopez visited The Graham Norton Show in the UK yesterday to discuss a wide range of topics and revealed that her album won’t hit stores until November. That’s right, the woman ranked as one of the most powerful entertainers in the world by Forbes magazine as a result of her remarkable ability to remain in the media spotlight, tacky product placement in her music videos and endorsement deals – “Live it Up” was featured in a Kohl’s campaign days after its debut – is chasing the Thanksgiving sales spike.
This far, “Live it Up”, which features Pitbull, has peaked at #60 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song is a slow burner on the chart compared to Lopez’s “On the Floor” monster hit from her Love? album, so it makes sense for her to wait until November to release her album and score a bigger hit before that time. Seriously despite being preceded by a stronger lead single, Love? sold less than 350K copies in the US.
