Well, at least they didn’t hire Miley Cyrus. With the highest-selling R&B album of the year to date and a pair of blockbuster hits to his name, Justin Timberlake has joined the lineup of performers for the BET Awards, which which will air on June 30 at 8pm ET from the Nokia Theatre LA Live.
Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience album has sold 1.99 million copies in the US as the best-selling album of 2013 and is still ranked in the top 10 of the Billboard 200, 3 months following its debut at #1 on the chart. Both of the record’s supporting singles – “Suit & Tie (Ft. Jay-Z)” and “Mirrors” – peaked in the top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100.
Other previously announced BET Awards entertainers include Mariah Carey, Ciara, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Miguel, R. Kelly and Kendrick Lama. As usual, Stevie Wonder will also hit the stage. Watch Timberlake perform “Suit & Tie” on Saturday Night Live below:
