The gays love Lady Gaga and she adores them even more. So, at The Rally held during NYC Pride 2013 in New York City last evening, Mother Monster was excited to help her fans celebrate the toppling of the Defence of Marriage Act by belting an impressive rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner”.
Unlike certain other divas who use every excuse to lip-sync the US national anthem or exploit the song for their own PR needs, GaGa sang “The Star Spangled Banner” entirely live and even changed some of the lyrics for the event. Hopefully, she doesn’t plan to follow those same miming peers of hers who think that adding a word to an old song “Ave Maria” means that they automatically qualify for credits and publishing rights.
Gaga is currently plotting the release of her ARTPOP album for later this year. How will she adjust to the declining success of EDM music on the charts? That remains to be observed but at least we know she will sound great in the process.
