Mariah Carey has been emancipated from her American idol contract and she’s ready to reclaim her spot at the top of the charts. Just moments ago, the range-roving diva announced the release date of her long awaited new album, which will hit stores at the peak of the summer season.

“The New Era Begins. 7/23,”Carey tweeted on Twitter to her excited fans as she signalled launch of the next phase of her career. Lead by the hit single “Beautiful”, featuring Miguel, the record will include Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, Randy Jackson, Darkchild, Big Jim Wright, Hit-Boy, The-Dream and Mike WiLL Made It.

Carey’s previous album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, has thus far been certified gold in the US with sales exceeding 560K copies. She has yet to choose a title or cover for her latest studio offering. Watch the video for “Beautiful” below:
