Big hair: check. Bedazzled microphone: check. Live vocals: put a pin in that one. Yesterday, head diva Mariah Carey recorded her set for the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, and although the fan footage showcases her voice in fine form, we all know that it’s always best to wait for the event to air on television.

Joined by her “#Beautiful” duet partner, Miguel, Carey performed several of her biggest hits as well as a powerful rendition of America the Beautiful. The patriotic anthem helped to make her a household name back in 1990 when she sang it live at the NBA Finals and introduced herself to the US national television audience.
