“Roc Nation better support me!”

Melanie Fiona is preparing new music for Roc Nation to ignore. Earlier today, the talented yet grossly underrated singer shared studio footage of herself recording a song called “Cold Piece” and appeared quite excited about the material, which will probably be overlooked if her management mishandles her career yet again.

Since being released in Mach 2012, Fiona’s previous album, The MF Life, has sold less than 158K copies in the US, despite earning her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Traditional R&B Performance (“Wrong Side Of A Love Song”). As a result of lacklustre promotion, only one of the included songs – “4 AM” – managed to crack the Billboard 100 and stalled at #81.
