J. Cole has been busy in the studio with the remaining members of TLC as he prepares material for their comeback album. However, before he shares a spot on the record’s track list with Drake and other Hip-Hop heavyweights, Cole got the group to return the favour via a new song that is set to appear on his Born Sinner album called “Crooked Smile”.
Continuing the theme of self-acceptance that made TLC one of the world’s greatest collectives, “Crooked Smile” tells the tale of finding positive in ever perceived flaw. The song’s title was inspired by Cole’s notorious teeth – a popular incoming search item here on The Lava Lizard – and channels a similar vibe to TLC’s own “Unpretty”.
Don’t expect to hear T-Boz and Chilli singing major roles on “Crooked Smile”, though, as they only appear on the track’s hook. Listen to the new music below and purchase your copy of Cole’s Born Sinner on June 18th:
