Janelle Monae’s “Dance Apocalyptic” single cover

What a great example of striking the iron while it’s hot! Shortly after announcing the release date of her The Electric Lady album, Janelle Monae issued a new song called “Dance Apocalyptic” and a special teaser for its accompanying video, which will premiere is the coming days.

The “Dance Apocalyptic” video will debut on July 2. The catchy tune opens with an interpolation of Juicy J’s “Bandz a Make Her Dance” before lunching into a retro mix of claps and guitars. Who else but Monae could turn a stripper anthem into a 1960s party jam that even our parents would enjoy?
