Robin Thicke mixed Funk with R&B on his biggest hit ever, “Blurred Lines (Ft. Pharrell & T.I.)”, but for his latest release, he has taken a completely different approach. The bass-heavy Dance cut “Give it 2 U” was produced by Dr. Luke and features rapper Kendrick Lamar for a special Hip-Hop twist.
The demo for “Give it 2 U” has been circulating on the web but this iTunes version of the track omits 2 Chainz’s contributions. Regardless, it’s clear that Thicke’s Blurred Lines album will be a healthy mix of various genres as he aims for success across every major radio format and every music market.
Blurred Lines will arrive in stores on July 30. Listen to him combine Prince with hint of Michael Jackson and a modern Dance beat on “Give it 2 U” below:
