The 2013 BET Awards honored music by black artists from across the spectrum, such as R&B, Soul and Hip-Hop. Even the Jamaican exports of Reggae and Dancehall was honored at the show, which included performances by Beenie Man, Dawn Penn, Chaka Deums and Elephant Man.
Penn kicked off the action with a rendition of the classic “You Don’t Love Me (No, No, No)” before Demus, Beenie Man and Elephant all took turns getting the crowd hyped. Meanwhile, in the front row of the audience, Nicki Minaj danced along as she pretended to be proud of her West Indian heritage.
