The 2013 Essence Music Festival is the place to be this weekend if you’re a fan of real R&B. Among the performers at the blockbuster event was Chrisette Michele, who brought her own unique stylings to the stage at the CoverGirl Superlounge during the July 5 segment of the show.
Working up a sweat under the glare dozens of flashing lights, Michele performed renditions of several songs, including “Supa”, “Be OK”, “Charades” and “A Couple of Forevers”. The latter pair of tunes appear on the songbird’s recently released Better album, which garnered rave reviews from critics, despite its low sales.
