Dear Katy Perry, no.

As artists continue to find innovative ways of promoting their music, Katy Perry has joined the action with a special announcement of her own. Emblazoned on the side of a golden semi-truck on the streets of Los Angeles today were the title and release date of the superstar’s upcoming album, which is due to arrive in the fall.

Prism will hit stores on October 22 as the official followup to Perry’s double platinum Teenage Dream album. Although she has yet to announce the lead single from the Madonna-inspired record, speculation  that Perry will perform the tune at the 2013 MTV VMA on August 25 continues to mount.

Perry described Prism as having a “darker” vibe than her previous sugary offerings as she develops a more mature sound. Does this mean that she’s going to start dressing like a regular human being as well? As we wait for that answer, see her album announcement below:
